Jennie and I took a trip towards Morgan land last weekend. Spent some time with Mom, trained the owners of and kicked off this new site, and played some cards with my cousin Brian and his wife Kacie. While there, I was able to snap this pic, which has turned out to be one of the most "interesting" photos on Flickr for that day.

My dad passed away this past Thursday, after many months of declining health from cancer. It's been a full day since the memorial service, and the truth of his absence is beginning to sink in. My dad will never be around to see my children; He won't be able to walk my sister down the aisle at her wedding; and most importantly - the man who represents all strength, wisdom and simplicity in my life (and many others I suspect) will only be available in photos and memories.

I'd love to write a more lengthy article (or perhaps even a book) about the qualities of my dad I hope to someday emulate, but I don't think I'm ready for that. For now, I just want to record that my dad was a wonderful man of strength, character, integrity, wisdom, determination, and most of all, love.

Following is the video we showed at the memorial service and passed out to some family members in DVD form.
