Four Years

Jennie and I have been married a wonderful four years as of today.

We had planned to do something special this week, so we left our calendars relatively open. With the Bridge service nearing its debut this Sunday, we've managed to spend most of our time off preparing for it (more about that in another post).

But today, we woke up, each grabbed an extra pair of clothes, and jumped in the car for Dallas. A mini roadtrip I suppose.

We made it to Dallas around 4:30 or so and did a bit of shopping. Didn't buy much, but had a good time nonetheless.

The part I want to tell you about is tonight... We checked into the Westin (a little more expensive than we had planned, but very convenient for shopping in the Galleria mall) and went to The Oceanaire restaurant for a late dinner. We had a late lunch, so we only asked for some clam chowder and dessert. The waiter asked if we were celebrating anything special, so we told him about our four year anniversary.

When the waiter brought out the dessert, he dipped a spoon in some liquid substance (most certainly alcohol) and lit it on fire. Then he poured it on top of the dessert and sliced it into perfect quarter pieces and slid us each one on a plate. My words don't do the presentation justice, but trust me it was very cool.

Then, when it came time for the bill, he said it was on the house! We thought that was simply amazing.

So that's the highlights of our day.
